Meet The Staff at Luma Dental in Toronto
Dr. Roshanak Jalali
Dr. Roshanak Jalali, also known as Roshi, grew up in an international family and has lived all over the world. She earned her dental degree in Dubai in 2011 and later moved to Canada, where she became a licensed dentist in 2018. Since then, she has been practicing in both Ontario and British Columbia. Dr. Jalali is a certified provider of both Botox and Invisalign, and has a special interest in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, including bridges, veneers, and smile makeovers. She’s also highly skilled in root canals and performs wisdom tooth extractions, combining technical precision with a gentle, reassuring touch. Patients often say she makes them feel calm, even those with dental anxiety.
She’s passionate about learning and keeps up with the latest in dentistry by attending top seminars and lectures. She also takes part in the Annual Spring Meeting (ASM) every year to stay current with new technologies and treatment options.
Dr. Jalali is a member of the Ontario Dental Association, the Iranian Dental Association, and was formerly affiliated with the British College of Dental Surgeons. She’s in good standing with the RCDSO and is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care.
Outside of the clinic, she’s a proud mom of two boys. She loves jogging, riding her Peloton, cooking for her family, and traveling, especially road trips through Europe. Italy and the French coast are at the top of her list.

Dr. Mercedeh Vaez
Dr. Mercedeh earned her dental degree from the University of New England in Portland, Maine, in 2019. Committed to advanced clinical excellence, she completed a one-year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) at Highland Hospital in Oakland, California, followed by a one-year internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Buffalo. After practicing general dentistry in California, Dr. Mercedeh returned home to Toronto in 2022 to be closer to family.Outside of work, she enjoys vibrant family life with her two young children, tending to her vegetable garden, and canoeing through the scenic waterways of Southern Ontario.
Deanna – Dental Hygienist
Deanna has been with our office since 2021. Deanna realized that her passion in life was dentistry. Deanna pursed her degree in Hygiene and graduated from A Plus Institute/ Toronto Dental Hygiene school.
Deanna enjoys talking to her patients about dental care and oral health. Deanna does her absolute best in helping her patients improve their dental health.
When she is not at the office, Deanna enjoys her time with her family(especially her 3 granddaughters) and friends. She is a vivid traveler especially to visit her family in Europe.
Leorivy – Dental Hygienist
Leorivy joined Luma Dental since 2022. With the background of Bachelors in management, she
fell in love with the beauty of Dentistry and so pursued Dental Hygiene. She had been practicing
as a Registered Dental Hygienist since 2019.
Leorivy always strive in helping her clients to attain and maintain a healthy and confident smile
in a collaborative effort.
Not only fluent in English but also in Filipino language. Aside from her passion in practicing
Dental Hygiene, she also loves exploring outdoors and enjoying spending time with her family.
Nina – Dental Hygienist
With over 30 years of experience in the medical field – pediatric RN in ICU from her native Bulgaria and Dental Assistant Level II and Registered Dental Hygienist, proudly graduated from George Brown, Nina is passionate in bringing the best care for her patients. From prevention, treatment, and continuous evaluation, she strives to make their overall wellness better through achieving proper attention to their oral health.
In her private life she loves spending time with her gorgeous son, two little doggies and lots of friends.
Jahnavi – Dental Hygienist
Jahnavi began her journey in oral healthcare by graduating in dentistry in India in 1999. With a strong interest in disease prevention and health promotion, she pursued a Master of Public Health at the University of Glasgow, graduating in 2007. Today, Jahnavi is dedicated to improving oral health through prevention, education, and compassionate patient care. She believes that oral health is an essential part of overall well-being, and is passionate about helping individuals make informed choices. By combining expertise in dentistry, public health, and dental hygiene, she strives to deliver patient-centered care and make a meaningful impact on the communities she serves.
Asma – Receptionist
Asma started working at Luma Dental in 2021. Since graduating from college, Asma has spent her time developing her customer service skills.
In her free time, she enjoys working out and spending time with her friends and family.
Ciara – Treatment Coordinator
Ciara pursued her Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology due to her interest in health and fitness, which later developed into her passion for oral health dentistry. Ciara excels at delivering a seamless patient experience, ensuring they feel informed, cared for, and comfortable throughout their treatment experience.
Ciara is responsible for coordinating all aspects of patient care, from the initial consultation to the completion of dental treatments. This includes scheduling appointments, discussing treatment plans with patients, handling insurance verification, and providing cost estimates.
Known for her exceptional communication skills, Ciara helps bridge the gap between the dental team and patients, ensuring that all parties understand the procedures, timelines, and financial aspects of treatments.
Ciara enjoys travelling to different parts of the world in her spare time, spending time outdoors with her son Henry, and playing physical sports.
